The meandering hiking trails through the breathtakingly beautiful Kazbegi National Park lead you through lush valleys, flower strewn meadows, past crumbling stone ruins and beneath imposing, snow-dusted peaks. Time spent here is all about being outdoors and enjoying the spectacular nature this park has to offer.

More energetic visitors may opt to dedicate a few days to climbing Mount Kazbek, but if you’re limited for time and would prefer a more leisurely pace, the hike up to Gergeti Trinity Church is a wonderful alternative. It takes between three and four hours and the views are well worth the effort. This isolated church was built in the 14th century by an unknown architect and this landmark has become one of the symbols of Georgia.

Close to the border with Russia, you’ll find the Dariali Monastery. Construction on this picturesque complex of churches was started in 2005, but it is clearly inspired by styles that date back to the 11th century. The materials used help to give the buildings a weathered look. During your visit you can sit down to a herbal tea tasting with the monks here.

The scenery in Kazbegi National Park is astounding, making for a truly memorable private tour through this part of Georgia.

Highlights
