At a glance

Explore Australia’s diverse and beautiful landscapes in search of its unique endemic animals, staying in a wonderful selection of the country’s finest wilderness lodges.

Begin your adventure in scenic Sydney then venture inland into the sublime Blue Mountains for two nights at Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley. From your private villa’s indoor pool, watch as kangaroo lope through the grounds of this seriously sumptuous lodge and look up to the misty rock outcrops that surround it, perhaps eyeing up the next day’s hike or mountain biking trail.

Fly east out to the remote Lord Howe Island, in the middle of the Tasman Sea, for three nights at the exclusive Capella Lodge. Whether snorkelling on the island’s vibrant coral reef, relaxing on the beach or trekking up into the verdant volcanic interior to spot rare birds, this idyllic subtropical spot is ripe for discovery.

End on another paradise isle with two final nights on Kangaroo Island. Often dubbed Australia’s Galapagos, it is home to thriving populations of platypus, koala, sea lions, wonderful bird life and, of course, kangaroo, as well as a beautifully rugged coastline, a fitting finale to the trip.

Melbourne sits at the end of Port Phillip Bay, split by the winding Yarra River, with its suburbs reaching out around the shoreline. With handsome Victorian-era architecture, museums, galleries, theatres, green parks, and an innovative art and nightlife scene, this is undoubtedly Australia’s cultural heart. It’s also a city known for a collective obsession with coffee, the aromas of roasting beans fill the air, with hip cafes and delis at every turn, and love of sport, especially Australian rules football, cricket, horse racing and motorsport.

Phillip Island ranger-led adventure

The ultimate way to experience the beauty and nature of Phillip Island is through the eyes of a Phillip Island ranger. Phillip Island Rangers are passionate experts with great knowledge about the island's flora and fauna, unique and varied birdlife plus the fascinating indigenous Aboriginal history of this small but diverse island.

During your adventure, you will get up close to Australia’s most iconic of marsupials at the Koala Conservation Centre. Exploring the treetop boardwalks at the centre you will see koalas up close in the natural habitat. Wander the extensive trails through Australian bushland, home to many animals including wallabies, echidnas and bats. Acquaint yourself with the wonders of the southern waters while you meander along the coastal boardwalks. Catch a glimpse of the world’s second largest Australian fur seal colony at Seal Rocks through the interactive cameras at the Nobbies Centre.

Complete an unforgettable day with one of the world’s greatest wildlife wonders. Enjoy the sunset return of the little penguins on ‘The Ultimate Penguin Tour’. This fully accredited eco-tour is restricted to no more than ten visitors per night and is held on a stunning, secluded beach where guests will view the little penguins waddling ashore to their sand dune burrows.
