At a glance

A honeymoon filled with exciting wildlife experiences, magnificent scenery and Indian Ocean island luxury that will make you remember your first weeks as an official couple most vividly.

Start by relaxing in the natural splendor of the infamous Ngorongoro Crater, followed by the romance of true adventure in a tented camp in the Serengeti with dinner in the evenings under the stars, gin and tonics in the light of the boma fire, and days spent following the Great Migration (in season).

Premier game watching, tracking and river safaris in the Nyerere National Park is next, before being flown to the Indian Ocean island of Pemba, just off of Zanzibar, for luxury, castaway chic in the blissfully secluded shoreline thatch villas of the Fundu Lagoon Hotel.

Scenic safari to Lake Manyara National Park with Lunch

Lake Manyara National Park is part of the Maasai ecosystem and lies at the base of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment, and where lush grasslands, swamp and woodland surround a large soda lake. Home to blue monkeys, baboons, tree-climbing lions, buffalos, elephant, giraffes, hippos and is a bird-watcher's paradise with 350 species of birds (including flamingos).

Your safari will explore just the northern corridor of the park, where you will see plenty of game and stop by the hippo pool for a picnic lunch overlooking the lake.

Lodges in Ngorongoro Crater

Two days exploring the Ngorongoro Crater and Conservation Area

Spend your days exploring all the dramatic scenery and safari scenes of the Ngorongoro Crater and Conservation Area. The largest intact volcanic caldera in the world, this magnificent geography and fertile soils lure huge herds of plains game and predators in what makes for a multi-coloured and thrilling amphitheater of wildlife. The Big Five are all present here and you can spot flamingos on the central soda lake, zebras grazing along the plains, lions lazing in the tall grass and leopards in the trees of the crater rims. Daily game drives are as standard with all the lodges here, but other activities will vary according to which you choose.

Lodges and camps in North Serengeti

Three days on safari in the North Serengeti

Spend your days mostly exploring the northern section of the Serengeti on safari tracking the great array of game and wildlife that this vast area offers. If you're there at the right time for the great migration (depending on the season), this is the region where the herds are at their most concentrated because the North Serengeti forms the border with the Famous Maasai Mara of Kenya, and it’s where (if you’re lucky) you’ll see the infamous river crossings. It’s also an area of untamed natural beauty, of rolling hills, rivers, forests and open plains. We can suggest the best camp for you, based on your preferences and what you’re looking to get out of your experience here.

Accommodation in Pemba Island

Five nights on Pemba Island

Once occupied by the Sultan of Muscat in the 17th century the Arabs called it ‘Pemba’ meaning Green Island, and as Zanzibar’s more undiscovered sister in its archipelago it has remained pleasingly unspoilt with an abundance of greenery, fertile lands for growing cloves and diving sites rich with corals and marine life.

Just 50 kilometres north of Zanzibar and one of the three ‘Spice Islands’, Pemba is considered to have more of an island profile than its siblings with lush rolling hills covered in dense forests, creeks coursing through steep green valleys, mangrove-knotted shores and beautiful flour-white beaches. Largely off the beaten track, Pemba is an authentic Swahili experience and where villagers are sometimes still taken by the sight of a visitor.
