Overview
Sitting on the banks of the Zambezi River, an area that abounds with savannah wildlife, Chiawa camp is family owned and friendly safari camp experience in the idyllic surroundings of the Lower Zambezi.
The multi-award winning camp began as the first photo safari in operation in the park, today its reputation as a superior lodge for families and honeymoons is known afar. From the open-sided communal lounge to the tents’ private decks with outdoor showers, every feature of the camp connects guests to its stunning surroundings.
The plunge pool, luxury suites and wooden raised decks all boast remarkable views over the Zambezi River where the resident wildlife, from elephants to lions, gathers.

Overview
Chongwe River House sleeps eight in four spacious ensuite bedrooms, making an ideal safari base for a family or a group of friends wanting a private safari. It stands on the banks of the magical Chongwe River, close to the Zambezi, and with a sensational view of the dramatic mountainous escarpment beyond.
Many animals come to the Chongwe River to drink and from the deck the game viewing can be as good as any safari activity. The property comes fully staffed with a guide, house manager and private chef – all of whom will tailor your private safari.
The four bedroomed house has been built around a frame of wild wood with ferro walls following the natural lines of the branches. All the furniture in the sitting room has been carved from a single fallen winterthorn tree and coloured pebbles from the river decorate the ceilings. Nature has been brought into the house.
The bedrooms all have kingsized plus beds under waves of netting. From each bed there is a stunning view of the bush or the escarpment. The bathrooms have waterfall showers and exquisite basins carved from wood and white marble by the Zambian artist Eddie Mumba. From your outside baths you can lie and gaze out across the bush.
Sitting on the deck, under a huge winterthorn tree and next to the large pool, your view across the Zambezi escarpment is magnificent. In the foreground the Chongwe River, a magnet to wildlife, passes by.

Overview
Sitting on the edge of the mighty Zambezi River are the Anabezi and Little Anabezi Camps. Both boast a peaceful setting with superb river, floodplain and wildlife vistas, though Anabezi is the larger of the two, housing seven rooms, while Little Anabezi houses just four.
All rooms here enjoy bundles of space, plus luxurious touches of outdoor showers and private decks where you can enjoy outstanding game views of this gorgeous area. Top-class guides are of course on hand for your exciting walks and drives, which have a maximum of just four passengers.
For something a little different though, try catching a Tiger Fish on a fishing safari, then retreat to camp for tasty food and a relaxing evening spent swapping game stories around the fire pit.
→ Find out moreThe Lower Zambezi National Park borders Zimbabwe in the south eastern corner of Zambia. The park itself covers an area of 4092km², with most of the game concentrated on the valley floor. Huge herds of elephants, sometimes numbering up to a hundred members, are often seen at the river’s edge. Another member of the Big Five, the buffalo, also roams between the banks in vast numbers. All but inaccessible by road, it remains a remote wilderness with just a few guests.

Overview
With uninterrupted views over Osprey Lagoon, and a fantastic vantage point from which to watch the areas mega-herds of elephants, Wilderness DumaTau and nearby Wilderness Little DumaTau are perfectly located for making the most of your stay in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve.
Each spacious tented guest suite has been positioned to offer great views whether you’re relaxing on your deck, or cooling off in your plunge pool. You’ll also find the tents include spot-cooling, meaning you can find respite from the hot afternoons indoors. Spend time investigating the ‘curiosity boxes’ you’ll find mounted on the walls in your room and the drawers filled with fascinating artefacts and information. They’re a great way to learn more about the area’s wildlife and rich history. Look out for unique elephant and wild dog art in the rooms and library made from reclaimed snare wire.
Wilderness Safaris have constructed both camps to give maximum comfort and offer guests a large array of facilities. In addition to the in-tent cooling systems, you’ll discover that the central Osprey Retreat which sits between the two camps boasts a pool, drink and snack counter and a Safari Boutique area, offering you more space to mingle with your fellow guests if you choose to do so. Large decks, plunge pools and awnings are attached to each of Wilderness Duma Tau’s eight tented suites as well as at the four at Wilderness Little DumaTau.
The Wilderness DumaTau team continues to focus on the sustainability of wildlife corridors, as they have done since 1997. They believe that it is more vital than ever to protect large wildlife corridors of wilderness, like those within the vast Linyanti Wildlife Reserve – especially for the African elephant and wild dog that cover extensive ground.
Staying at Wilderness DumaTau offers you easy access to the Linyanti floodplain as well as the Savuti Channel, in fact, it’s the only concession from which you can access both. The region has all the habitat diversity to make it a haven for wildlife, and is well-known for its elephant concentrations as they congregate along the waterways and lagoons during the dry winter months. General wildlife viewing is excellent year round including impala, wildebeest, red lechwe, Burchell’s zebra, giraffe, Cape buffalo, chacma baboon, vervet monkey, and warthog. Predator sightings of lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and spotted hyena are good. As well as day and night game drives, you can explore on nature walks or take to the water on motorboats or the river barge (depending on water levels).

Linyanti
Overview
Wilderness Linyanti Tented Camp overlooks the Linyanti marsh and floodplain, and with easy access to a range of habitats including open savannah and woodland, this is a great place for game viewing.
The camp operates on an exclusive-use basis and consists of four large en-suite tents, designed to evoke the spirit of the early explorers. The main area of the camp is built on a slightly raised desk and offers impressive views of the landscape and its inhabitants.
After a day in the wilderness, come back to camp to relax around the crackling fire or in the traditional boma. As well as game drives, guests can head out on a nature walk, visit the log pile hide and head out after dark to see a variety of animals that stay hidden during the day.
→ Find out moreSitting north of the Okavango, the Linyanti is home to some of Botswana's most exclusive lodges and camp. Due to the fact that the reserve is private, there are no limitations to the activities on offer as in the National Park, so it is possible to do game drives at day and at night, as well as walking safaris, boating, fishing and sleepouts in the reserve’s various hides.
