Accommodation in Cape Town

Three nights in Cape Town

One of the most beautiful cities in the world, Cape Town is a city that can really take your breath away. The horizon dominated by the iconic table-top mountain rising up in the background, whilst in the foreground are the crisp waters of the cape, the laid-back bustle of the cityā€™s waterfront skirted by sandy beaches and picturesque suburbs.

This is the oldest city in South Africa, steeped in history and full of beautiful buildings from its colonial past. The tall mountains and green hills that surround the city have an immensely calming effect helping this to be one of the most relaxing big city visits that you are likely to have. You'll also have our top recommendations for activities, restaurants and shopping so that you can make the most of your time here.

Cape Town City & Table Mountain tour

Today you have a half day tour of the city and Table Mountain. Your tour is with a private guide and at your own pace picking out the attractions which interest you. Typically highlights include, the Houses of Parliament, the Castle (built between 1666 and 1679, this is South Africaā€™s oldest building), the lively Green Market Square with its daily market, the Company Gardens and of course Table Mountain which will give you spectacular views over the city and Peninsula (depending on the weather). On the descent, you can stop at the Bo Kaap, traditionally home to the Cape Malay community, with its cobbled streets and brightly coloured houses. Note that this tour can be done in the morning or the afternoon - the choice is yours.

Helicopter Tour of Cape Town and the Peninsula

This flight is the ultimate scenic tour covering the entire Cape Peninsula. From take-off you will get a great view of Table Mountain, Robben Island & the V&A Waterfront. Continue along the coastline passing Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Clifton, Camps Bay, Llandadno and Hout Bay. After Hout Bay you will get a great view of the famous Chapmans Peak Drive, which you follow until reaching Noordhoek Beach. From here you continue south passing Kommetjie, Scarborough and Misty Cliffs. From this point you start flying over Cape Point Nature Reserve. Nearing the the southern most point of the Peninsula you pass the Cape of Good Hope, Dias Beach and of course Cape Point itself. After rounding the point, start heading North and along the way home you will pass Simons Town, Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay, Muizenberg, Tokai, the Constantia Winelands, Newlands Cricket & Rugby Stadiums, University of Cape Town, Grooteschuur Hospital and finally the Cape Town Docks where you land at the Waterfront Helipad.

Private Cape Town Eats Walking Tour

So much about a country and a culture is expressed through its cuisine. In South Africa, much of the cuisine is a home cuisine and to get a taste you really need to search hard! As such this tour aims to combine the history of our country and city through exploring the back streets to find the tastes that represent this rainbow nation. With your expert local guide, you will walk the streets of Cape Town and experience its history, its people and its gourmet delights. En route, you stop to taste a mixture of traditional food, South African street food and to visit some artisanal foodie and coffee shops. This way you will enjoy a real taste of the Cape!

We suggest you only have a very light breakfast beforehand as there will be lots to eat on this tour. Unfortunately, vegans and coeliacs cannot be catered for, but vegetarians are welcome. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes.

Accommodation in The Winelands

Two nights in South Africa's Winelands

Just a short drive from Cape Town one enters the verdant, rolling hills of South Africaā€™s wine country. Home to fantastic wine and some of Africaā€™s best restaurants.

This is one of the most historic areas of South Africa as itā€™s where many of the original Dutch settlers first made their homes. Pretty towns and villages adorn the countryside, their white washed Dutch colonial buildings contrasting against the lush greens of vineyards, fields and forests.

Privately guided tour of the Winelands

Based on your personal wine preferences, visit hand picked wineries with your guide. On a usual tour, the first stop is Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa, with canal-lined avenues, and magnificent examples of Cape Dutch architecture. Next head over the scenic Helshoogte Pass to Franschhoek, founded by French Huguenots over 350 years ago. It's lovely setting and cafƩ lined streets will charm you and afford the opportunity to do some shopping too.
