This luxury family safari adventure – suitable for families with children over 10 – has been especially designed to take in the delights of the verdant Green Season. During this period, brown landscapes turn multifarious shades of green, baby animals are born and national parks and camps are less crowded, making it a perfect time for families to explore. You’ll stay in large luxury safari tents, especially chosen to accommodate family groups, and we will take care of every detail to ensure you enjoy a seamless journey and unforgettable memories.

Begin your trip at Victoria Falls on the Livingstone side in Zambia where you’ll spend three nights at a luxury camp. Family members of all ages will be awestruck by the awesome power of the falls and there will be plenty of opportunities for Zambezi River activities that will be enjoyed by young and older alike.

Next move your brood on to the Chobe National Park in northeastern Botswana for two nights at luxury tented camp. Spend your days going on 4×4 game drives to see the huge herds of elephants and buffalo that call the park their home as well as the lions, leopards and wild dogs that prey on them.

The last stop on your familial expedition is the lush and green Okavango Delta, where you’ll spend three wildlife-filled days enjoying both private game drives and unique water safaris.

Three days on the Zambezi River

The Zambezi River flows placidly to the brink of a wide basalt lip before taking a frothy, 100 metre plunge at Victoria Falls into the Batoka Gorge below. This thunderous demonstration of nature's mighty power represents the world's largest sheet of falling water and will impress the whole family. The river then continues its course as white water rapids, providing exhilarating opportunities for family adventure activities. Spend your time on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River exploring this spectacular waterway and making the most of the area's unique safari opportunities, visiting the Victoria Falls and enjoying the many activities that the river affords.

Two days in Chobe National Park

At this time of year, Chobe National Park is a perfect safari choice as it's drier than many other of the surrounding areas. Spend your days discovering the famous herds of elephant and buffalo and other fantastic wildlife that feed by the glistening river in Chobe National Park. Get involved with game activities across the floodplains, or take a river cruise and let the kids get a closer look of animals such as hippos and crocodiles.

4x4 game drive in Chobe National Park

Today, you will be met by your guide and brought in an especially equipped 4x4 vehicle on safari around Chobe National Park. You'll have the opportunity to see an abundance of wildlife and in particular the huge herds of elephants for which the park is well known. There are estimated to be more than 120 000 elephants in the park, representing the largest surviving elephant population in the world. The park is also home to large herds of buffalo and Burchell’s zebra as well as high densities of predators such as a lions, leopards, cheetah, and spotted hyena.

Three days exploring the Okavango Delta

Experience the lush, green beauty of the Okavango Delta and the magnificent wildlife that live here in the Green Season. This is a unique opportunity for both water-based safaris by 'mokoro' - a traditional dug-out canoe - and boat and land-based big game drives taking place in the mornings and evenings. Your expert guide will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding the environment and wildlife as you are privately driven across the Delta. Depending on which lodge you choose to stay at there will be a number of different activities that you can choose from to immerse yourself in this incredibly diverse, natural environment.

4x4 game drive in Okavango Delta

The Okavango River brings large herds of elephant and other antelope species to the delta followed by numerous predators such as the majestic black maned Kalahari lions and elusive Wild African dogs. Your expert guide will help you to spot these animals with a guided 4x4 safari.

Okavango Delta Water-based safari

The Okavango Delta is known as one of the premier wildlife habitats in the world, home to an enormous density and diversity of wildlife. The flooding of the Delta brings water from thousands of miles upstream on the Okavango river, arriving into Botswana in the dry season. Huge herds of animals flock to take advantage of the ready supply of water and nutrients, and their predators follow. You'll have the opportunity to witness this spectacle as you ride through the reeds as the sun goes down in a ‘mokoro’ - a traditional dug-out canoe - or in a speed boat. Your Okavango-born guide and poler will help you to spot tiny frogs, hippo, crocodile, the elusive sitatunga and colourful waterbirds such as Pel's Fishing-Owl, Slaty Egret, Wattled Crane and a host of raptors, other waterbirds and colourful kingfishers.
