Fiji is a South Pacific archipelago comprising over 300 islands – some inhabited but many untouched. Each island offers something different but white sandy beaches, peaceful lagoons, and locals keen to show off their culture make every single one a fascinating destination.

Surrounded by the crystal clear waters of the South Pacific, it’s no surprise that swimming, snorkelling, and diving are some of the most popular activities. The vibrant underwater world is a fascinating place to explore with colourful schools of fish, turtles, manta rays, and tiger sharks.
The Mamanucas and the Yasawa Islands, sitting to the west of Viti Levu, are some of Fiji’s most popular, characterised by palm-fringed beaches and powder soft sand. Sitting to the north east is Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second largest island, while to the south is the Kadavu Island Group. These islands are surrounded by the Great Astrolabe Reef and offer some of the best diving in the area.
Although the beaches are one of the main draws of a trip to Fiji, there are also incredible hiking trails, bird-watching opportunities and the chance to discover traditional culture with a visit to a local village. Fijians are incredibly proud of their heritage and with Indian, Chinese and European ancestry the culture is incredibly varied. Most trips to Fiji include a lovo – a traditional feast cooked in an earth oven, and a kava ceremony where guests are invited to try Fiji’s national drink and get to learn more about the Fijian way of life.

When to Visit
Although Fiji is warm year-round, the best time to visit Fiji is during the dry season. This lasts from May until October, and is made up of mostly pleasant breezes and cool nights, so outdoor activities such as water sports are more enjoyable. May to October is also the best time for spotting wildlife, as during these months it’s manta ray and whale season. November to April is humid and sees torrential tropical downpours, usually in the afternoon, and the occasional storm.
