Dan Rhodes

Travel Designer

After completing my university studies, I made the decision to embark on an adventure in Canada, indulging in the thrill of working during the vibrant ski season. Little did I know that this experience would ignite an insatiable wanderlust within me. As a year passed in the enchanting landscapes of the Canadian Rockies, I couldn’t bear the thought of returning home to the UK so hastily. And just like that, my passion for travel was born. For the subsequent two years, I embarked on a journey to all sorts of corners of the globe, eagerly soaking in the cultures and natural wonders each destination had to offer. Time has flown by, yet my passion for exploring this magnificent world remains undiminished.

My last trip to Italy was amazing, I'll never forget how many hidden gems I was able to experience.

Slovenia

Three times I have tried to go there and all three times I have had to unfortunately cancel. Fourth time lucky?

My top tips

Book at least nine months in advance if you go to Europe in the Summer. It can get very busy and the beautiful boutique hotels can fill up quickly.

Try to do a city tour on the first day. You will be able to orientate yourself for your remaining days there.

Stay centrally located (walking distance to city centre) when in a large European city to avoid spending time heavy traffic in a taxi.

Go on a food tour with a local host wherever possible. You will learn about so much more than simply the food.
